Alastair MacKenzie

A bit about me.

I'm Alastair, a strength and performance coach with a particular interest in Olympic weightlifting. Training has been a big part of my life for years. From building general strength to developing the technical demands of the snatch and clean & jerk, I've always enjoyed the process of getting better.

What interests me most about coaching is helping people make progress they can actually measure. Whether that's improving a squat, building muscle, learning a new movement or simply becoming more consistent in the gym.

I believe good coaching should be straightforward. You need a clear plan, honest feedback and someone who understands that training has to fit around work, family and everything else life brings.

Philosophy

My coaching philosophy.

Movement Is Medicine

I genuinely believe that any kind of movement is medicine, whether getting your morning steps in sunlight, or throwing a barbell overhead - Movement Is ALWAYS Medicine.

Consistency Beats Intensity

Long-term progress comes from showing up regularly and training well, not from occasional heroic efforts. I'll help you build habits that last.

Coaching should fit your life

Training is part of your life, not the whole of it. I programme around your schedule, your commitments and your energy - not the other way around.

Progress should be measurable

Vague goals lead to vague results. I work with clear targets and regular reviews so you always know where you stand and what to focus on.
